Associate / Senior Associate - Dispute Resolution | PQE: 2-5 | Mumbai | Law Firm | Boutique
A boutique law firm is looking to hire an Associate / Senior Associate – Dispute Resolution for its Mumbai office. The role offers an opportunity to work closely with the partners on complex, high-value commercial disputes, regulatory matters, enforcement actions and contentious investment-related matters.
The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to commercial litigation and arbitration, with the ability to independently manage matters while working closely with senior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling complex commercial and corporate disputes, including contractual and investment-related conflicts.
- Advising and representing clients in promoter/shareholder disputes and other contentious corporate matters.
- Working on regulatory and enforcement proceedings before judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
- Handling disputes arising from stressed, distressed or failed transactions, including recovery and enforcement-related matters.
- Assisting in strategy, drafting and execution of litigation and arbitration proceedings.
- Preparing and reviewing pleadings, petitions, written submissions, applications, notices and other court filings.
- Conducting legal research and developing case strategy for complex matters.
- Appearing before various courts, tribunals and quasi-judicial authorities, commensurate with experience.
- Working closely with partners and senior counsel on high-value and strategically important matters.
- Independently managing assigned matters and maintaining client communication, where required.
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting the broader dispute resolution practice.
Ideal Candidate
- 2–5 years of PQE in dispute resolution / commercial litigation.
- Strong experience in commercial disputes, corporate disputes, contractual disputes, shareholder/promoter disputes or regulatory litigation.
- Exposure to arbitration and/or proceedings before commercial courts and tribunals would be preferred.
- Candidates with experience in regulatory/enforcement matters or disputes arising from investments and stressed transactions will be particularly relevant.
- Strong drafting, legal research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of matters.
- Strong oral advocacy and court craft.
- Experience of working with senior counsel on complex matters would be an advantage.
