The Opportunity
A unique opportunity to be the first dedicated in-house legal hire for a growing EV manufacturer, with ownership of the legal function across manufacturing, operations and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end legal support across manufacturing, factory operations and distribution.
- Manage litigation and disputes, including on-ground legal matters and coordination with external counsel.
- Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies on legal and operational matters.
- Draft and review commercial, vendor, dealer, distribution and other business agreements.
- Advise the Founder and business teams on day-to-day legal, commercial and risk matters.
- Build the legal function from the ground up, including processes, frameworks and external counsel management.
Ideal Profile
- 6–10 years PQE, with strong 5–7 years’ experience in litigation/disputes.
- Exposure to corporate, commercial and contractual matters.
- Prior experience in in-house, manufacturing, FMCG/consumer, automotive, EV or distribution environments preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to independently handle on-ground legal matters.
- Kannada proficiency and familiarity with the local ecosystem preferred.
- A hands-on, business-oriented lawyer comfortable being the first legal hire and building the function independently.
