Job Description: Associate / Senior Associate, Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT)

Location: Gurugram
Experience: 3–6 years PQE
Firm: A leading full-service Indian law firm

About the role
Our client is looking for a TMT lawyer to join its growing technology practice in Gurugram. You'll advise domestic and international clients, including tech companies, platforms, telecom operators, media houses and investors, on transactional, regulatory and advisory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate technology contracts, including SaaS, licensing, IT outsourcing, cloud, and software development agreements
• Advise on data protection and privacy compliance under the DPDP Act, 2023 and its Rules, plus cross-border data transfers
• Advise on IT Act, 2000 matters, intermediary liability, and content regulation
• Handle telecom regulatory work under the Telecommunications Act, 2023, TRAI and DoT
• Advise on media, broadcasting, OTT, gaming and digital advertising regulation
• Do TMT diligence and structuring for M&A, PE/VC and joint venture deals
• Track policy developments in AI, fintech and emerging tech, and write client updates
• Manage client relationships and supervise junior associates

Requirements

• LLB from a reputed law school, enrolled with the Bar Council of India
• 3–6 years of relevant TMT experience at a law firm 
• Strong knowledge of the Indian technology, data protection and telecom regulatory framework
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and client communication skills
• Experience on cross-border mandates is a plus
